Governor Scott Walker will announce his re-election campaign in Waukesha on November 5 at Weldall Manufacturing, according to a release from the campaign on Thursday. The Sunday announcement will be the start of a series of campaign events scheduled for the week of the announcement.
“Our bold reforms have delivered results for Wisconsin’s hard-working families, from lower taxes to record investment in our classrooms – but there’s more to be done,” Walker said in a press release about the announcement. “I’m ready to continue the fight and keep Wisconsin moving forward.”
Walker’s campaign launched a series of web ads and released a new video on Wednesday in advance of the formal re-election campaign announcement. The video, “More to Be Done,” contains the themes that will likely be used in the campaign: cutting taxes, balanced budgets, spending more on education, and low unemployment.
Waukesha has been the site of significant campaign moments in Walker’s political career before. In 2012, Walker celebrated his victory in the recall election at the Waukesha Expo Center. In 2015, Walker announced his campaign for president at the same location.
