Is this thing on? Hello? Hello? Echo. Echo. Pinch hitting for Pedro Borbon… Manny Mota… Mota… Mota…
Sorry, I’ve got to concentrate. It’s been so long since I’ve posted a blog entry, I’ve almost forgotten how to do it.
What are we doing here? Good question. But before we can answer that, let’s answer where I’ve been. Until recently, I was the editor and owner of RightWisconsin, a political news site with a conservative focus. But I took a step back, and for reasons too lengthy to go into here, I realized that wasn’t what I wanted to do anymore. That’s what happens when you go to the beach.
I needed a change. So here we are, coming around full circle to my roots as a blogger as well as a political pundit.
What’s different? Well, for one thing, it’s all about me. As my wife, the Lovely Doreen from Waukesha would say, what’s so different about that? Not too much, but you won’t be finding too much pithy commentary from Wisconsin’s other conservative voices here. Nor will this be solely focused on politics. While there will still be political commentary, I will also be writing about my life, culture, travel, food, and local events.
This will be a blog, a collection of short thoughts and observations. The “news,” such as it is, will be links to where I’m quoted, interviewed, and published on other websites.
The real “meat” of this project will be a twice-weekly newsletter for subscribers. In the newsletter, I’ll take a little more time to explore themes, places, and politics in essays similar to those I wrote for the Waukesha Freeman, as well as make a few quick hits.
I hope you join me on this adventure. I’m looking forward to it.
