In the past 150 years, no Christian has made a bigger impact on politics than Abraham Kuyper. Kuyper was a pastor, theologian, and a Dutch prime minister in the early 20th century. This quote exemplified his life, “There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ… does not cry, Mine!”

Kuyper’s goal for Christians was to have them impact the world through all spheres of society, especially politics.

In America, we saw this principle recaptured with the creation of the Moral Majority by Jerry Falwell. This movement was the catalyst for Ronald Reagan’s popularity. In 1980, Ronald Reagan won America over with the slogan, “The Time is Now. Reagan for President.”

Since Reagan, Christians have failed to effectively impact the public square inches of society. As a result, we have seen religious freedoms under assault in our culture and politics. As Christians, we are on the verge of seeing a leftist government that will take away our God-given rights.

Just as 1980 was the time for Reagan’s resurgence and for policy grounded in a Christian worldview, 2019 and 2020 is the time for a Christian resurgence in influencing public policy and elections.

For too long, Christians have fallen into the leftist lie that the faith is only for Sunday mornings. The time is now for Christians to step up and live their faith in every aspect of life, including the public square.

In Wisconsin, the Democratic Party has cut all ties to our values. Every Democrat in the legislature voted against protecting a baby from infanticide. Liberals in Wisconsin demonized Brian Hagedorn for being a school board member at a Christian school. And every Democrat running for president supports taxpayer-funded abortions.

Christians, the Democratic Party no longer fights for you. They have sold you out to fight for the secular culture, Hollywood, and the far-left media. In practicality, these institutions are calling for a war on your beliefs.

The left hates everything Christians represent. Democrats in Washington have compared membership in faith-based organizations like the Knights of Columbus to hate group organizations like the KKK. If it were up to these Democrats, Christians would be banned from public service.

In De Pere, leftist city council leaders tried forcing churches to violate their conscience by forcing them to hire LGBT pastors. In Wisconsin, Democratic Governor Tony Evers vetoed a ban on sex-selective abortion, and nationally Democrats are pushing to ban faith-based adoption agencies.

As Christians what should we do? Should we roll over and take the beating, or should we stand up for our common values like Kuyper, Falwell, and Reagan?

We believe Christians need to get involved in this political battle and help out the only political institution that still fights for religious freedom and stands up for the sanctity of human life. That institution is your local Republican Party!

The Republicans can longer do it on their own. To win elections they need volunteers and money. It’s imperative that you help elect and re-elect Republicans who will stick up for you and push back against the anti-Christianity hate from the left.

Christian values have been destroyed through the courts. These next six years will shape the future of our country through likely having at least two U. S. Supreme Court nominees and many other appellate court nominations.

Republicans need your help. By donating your time and money to your county Republican Party now you can help save the future for the Christian community your children and grandchildren will belong to.

In his speech, A Time for Choosing, Reagan said, “…it’s been said if we lose that war, and in so doing lose this way of freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment that those who had the most to lose did the least to prevent its happening.”

In 2019 and going into 2020, America is losing its most basic freedoms of life and liberty. Just as the Netherlands has morally fallen since Kuyper’s leadership, America has been morally falling since Reagan’s presidency.  Christians must live out their worldview just as Abraham Kuyper and Ronald Reagan.

Christians, are you ready to join us in this battle?
