People often ask me who I am supporting in the 2018 U.S. Senate race. For me, the answer is an easy one; I choose Leah. Leah is more than a close friend and colleague; she is someone I trust to work on behalf of all Wisconsinites.
Since before Leah officially entered the race she has been traveling every corner of the state to hear what’s on people’s minds – and she has been listening.
During this legislative session, Leah has been a strong voice for rural Wisconsin in the budget process and in varying pieces of legislation. Leah helped make sure we secured money for broadband expand grants into the state budget so Wisconsinites can get connected in their homes, businesses, and our classrooms. Leah was also instrumental in supporting two matching grant programs for Advanced Practice Clinicians and Allied Health Professionals so rural hospitals and clinics can train up their workforce and ensure people have access to well-trained healthcare professionals in their communities.
Leah has also been a key leader in making sure hard-working families keep more of their paychecks by pushing for tax reform and making sure we have modern rules for a modern economy.
Throughout her time serving in the legislature in Madison, Leah has been consistent in making sure we enact sound policies that strengthen the middle class, invest in the future workforce of our state, and create a positive environment for job creation and new opportunities for Wisconsinites.
I know that Leah will take that same approach if she is given the chance to represent us in the U.S. Senate. There is no doubt in my mind that D.C. could learn a thing or two from what we have been able to accomplish here in Wisconsin, and that is why I am proudly supporting Leah and ask that you give her your vote so she can be our voice in Washington.
