Kevin Nicholson Statement on Tammy Baldwin’s Endorsement of
Single-Payer, Government-Run Health Care
Conservative outsider and Marine Corps combat veteran Kevin Nicholson issued the following statement in response to Democrat Senator Tammy Baldwin’s op-ed today endorsing single-payer, government-run health care:
“Senator Tammy Baldwin’s embrace of a total government takeover of our health care system should alarm every Wisconsinite. The costs would be astronomical and outcomes for patients would erode. We know Obamacare is collapsing, but more government in our health care is exactly the wrong answer. Tammy Baldwin’s move to force all Americans into government run healthcare is particularly dangerous given her blatant disregard for the health of veterans at the government-run Tomah VA hospital.
We need conservative, market-based reforms that will lower premiums for Wisconsin families. We can achieve that goal through greater portability of healthcare dollars, responsibly protecting those with pre-existing conditions, and increasing competition and consumer choice alongside greater transparency in pricing.”
