Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Rebecca Dallet is attempting use her personal wealth to make herself a credible candidate in the state Supreme Court race. Dallet has loaned her campaign for state Supreme Court $200,000 to bring her campaign’s cash-on-hand total to nearly $280,000. In addition to the loan, Dallet received $70,984.00 in contributions from individuals and conduit money.

Dallet is running against Madison attorney Tim Burns and Sauk County Circuit Judge Michael Screnock to replace Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman who is not running for re-election. Dallet and Burns are competing for the liberal vote in the race, while Screnock is running as the conservative in the race. The primary election is February 20, 2018, and the top two candidates will face each other in the Spring election on April 3, 2018.

Burns raised $122,751.10, in the recent campaign finance reporting period, including donating $1000 to his own campaign. He currently has $93,978.18 in cash on hand.

Screnock entered the race shortly before the latest campaign finance reporting period ended June 30 and had no contributions to report.
