Another flag? I don’t believe it.

Okay, I have to believe it. The New York Times discovered the Alitos flew another flag supposedly connected to MAGA Republicans.

The flag in question is the Revolutionary War Pine Tree flag. It’s about as MAGA as the Betsy Ross 13 original colonies flag, but some on the political left get nervous around that flag, too. Next, the New York Times will discover that Alito has a copy of Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged or, Heaven forbid, a copy of Robert Heinlein’s The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress.

Maybe Alito should start flying the TANSTAAFL flag, complete with the brass cannon.

But here’s a memo to the rest of the media: not every person flying a Revolutionary War flag is a Trump supporter. Conservatives who are “Never Trump” are opposed to Trump because he poses an immediate threat to the classical liberal order that is the product of this country’s founding. Some of us even like Revolutionary War flags.

Instead of making every Revolutionary War flag a symbol of those who would end our democratic system, let’s do what we can to reappropriate these symbols to the cause of liberty. Let’s just leave MAGA with the Confederate Battle Flag instead.
