MADISON – Gov. Scott Walker sent a letter to Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald on Wednesday with proposed details for a compromise on the transportation portion of the state budget. After the letter was reported by media outlets, WMC Senior Vice President of Government Relations Scott Manley released the following statement in response
“WMC commends Gov. Walker for proposing a plan to legislative leaders that may finally move the ball on the state budget. His willingness to listen to both houses of the legislature shows he is serious about finding the best solution for Wisconsin. The governor’s plan is fiscally responsible thanks to a significant reduction in bonding, but also ensures road projects that are critical to the state’s economy stay on track. We look forward to continuing our conversation with legislative leaders and Gov. Walker on this important issue.”
