Statement: Assembly Bill 499, The Mining Bill
Madison…Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) released the following statement concerning Assembly Bill 499, the mining reform legislation, which has a public hearing today in the Assembly Committee on Labor.
“I want to thank Rep. Rob Hutton and his staff for the work they have done bringing forward legislation that will produce generations of family-supporting careers in Wisconsin. The mining reform bill creates a balance between new economic opportunities in an industry that our neighboring states allow and the protection of the natural resources in our state. The bill authors should be commended for their willingness to improve the bill and I look forward to a robust discussion on the merits of this legislation.”
