[Madison, Wis.] – In case you missed it, Gov. Scott Walker signed the biennial state budget last week, which eliminates the state property tax and contributes toward some $8 billion in cumulative tax cuts, while making a record investment in our K-12 classrooms and freezing tuition at our universities.
The results this budget delivers for Wisconsin’s hard-working families are possible because of the bold reforms Gov. Walker and Republicans fought for to balance the state budget. Gov. Walker signs $76 billion state budget

NEENAH, Wis. – In a ceremony at Tullar Elementary School in Neenah, Gov. Walkersigned the 2017-2019 state budget Thursday. He said the $76 billion spending plan is solid and shows he listened to the priorities of Wisconsin residents.
“This is a solid, sound budget. It allows us to protect public safety and public health while still protecting the local taxpayer,” Walker said.
The budget increases state aid for K-12 schools and expands the state voucher program. It freezes tuition at UW campuses and increases funding for higher education, but does not make up for cuts in last year’s budget.
“In this budget, there’s actually more money for schools than ever before, more actual dollars,” Walker said. “Eleven and a half million dollars invested in schools K-12 in this budget.” …
