Randy Bryce, a Democratic candidate in the first congressional district, may have stuck his politically incorrect foot in his mouth on Twitter. Now the Hollywood favorite is fighting off charges of sexism.

As the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported, Bryce posted on Twitter on Sunday a picture of Ivanka Trump with Canadian Prime Minister Justing Trudeau with the caption, “Don’t worry @jaredkushner regardless of what might go down – she’ll be okay. #MuellerTime.”

Bryce was attacked by his opponent in the Democratic primary Cathy Myers for implying that a woman needs a man.

After the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article appeared, Myers continued the criticism.

While Myers pounded on Bryce’s candidacy, Republicans wondered if Bryce’s Hollywood support will evaporate. “With the Harvey Weinstein revelations still in the spotlight, do Bryce’s Hollywood allies like Chelsea Handler stand by his sexist tweet?” asked National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Chris Martin on Monday.

Reaction to Bryce’s Twitter post about Ivanka Trump and Trudeau has been mostly negative from his fellow Democrats online, but Bryce didn’t apologize or pull the tweet down.

“Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, Roger Stone, Paul Manafort — the whole lot — have demonstrated to the world what inappropriate conduct looks like: colluding with a hostile foreign power to influence an American election,” Bryce told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Sunday, without making any reference to what he posted. “My neighbors and I are sitting here very anxiously this weekend hoping that justice begins tomorrow.”

Despite Bryce’s statement alleging collusion between Russian and the Trump campaign, Manafort and his associate Rick Gates were charged Monday with crimes that occurred before they worked for the Trump campaign.

“The indictment of Mr. Manafort and Mr. Gates makes no mention of Mr. Trump or election meddling,” the New York Times reports. “Instead, it describes in granular detail Mr. Manafort’s lobbying work in Ukraine and what prosecutors said was a scheme to hide that money from tax collectors and the public. The authorities said Mr. Manafort laundered more than $18 million.”
